Alber Elbaz decided to design a line of bridal gowns for Lanvin. But Collection Blanche is not an usual bridal collection but almost a little tongue-in-cheek – instead of classic styles, the Elbaz bride has a sense of humour and a huge doze of nonconformism.

The materials remain decadent silks, washed faille, silk tulle, taffeta, lace and chiffon, the collection includes a kaftan, a trench, a tulle cardigan and many other styles that break the rules of conformity for a bride on her wedding day

Short dresses are hugely popular but they don't usually look quite like this with its assymetric draping, ruching and puffball skirt with a bow and tails sat on one side. You'd have to be either very confident or outstounding in the gene pool to pull it off. Could you? Would you want to? Unless you have model length legs however, this style isn't always the most flattering. Fortunately for the rest of us, there is a simple trick that will make your legs look longer: change your shoes.

Shoes with straps across the front of the ankle cause the length of the leg to be broken up because the eye stops at the strap. Shoes without the straps, however, draw the eye down to your foot and elongate your legs - or at least the eye's perception of your legs. By ditching strappy shoes, you can easily pull off the sassy, leggy look while wearing shorter skirts or dresses
